Announcing: Farm Legal Academy

Barn2Door is pleased to announce a new Farm Legal Academy! This Academy class is designed to help Independent Farmers better understand the primary legal rules and regulations that affect local food production and consumer sales. Farmers will gain better insight into various federal and state laws that may affect your Farm operations. The Academy classes will be led by Alexia Kulweic, the managing director of Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF). She has decades of experience working to protect and support Farms across the country. Join the class in late October, 2024!

Why Attend the Farm Legal Academy?

Farmers regularly come into contact with legal matters as their products are grown, harvested and sold for consumption. It can be overwhelming to keep track of the various laws, safety parameters, and inspection requirements that may apply to the specifics of your Farm in your state.

FTCLDF offers a wealth of resources to assist Farmers navigating the legal maze to operate their business. Barn2Door has interviewed and freely distributed FTCLDF insights on a range of topics to Farmers throughout the country via the Independent Farmer Podcast. This Academy class is an extension of Barn2Door’s efforts to provide Farmers with practical feedback from an Attorney, who is an expert on Farming-related matters. There is something for everyone to learn from our new Farm Legal Academy.

What to Expect in the Farm Legal Academy

Academy classes are divided into three one-hour classes over three weeks. The classes are hosted by Industry experts and successful Producers, to help independent Farmers supercharge their business. The more Farmers understand every area of their operations, the greater likelihood of building a resilient, Independent Farm business on their own terms.

During the Farm Legal Academy, session topics will address three (3) separate, but important areas, to help provide a foundation of the current legal landscape.
