Announcing: The Independent Farmer Podcast!

We’re excited to announce that Barn2Door has recently rebranded our Direct Farm Podcast to the Independent Farmer Podcast! When we launched our podcast years ago, we wanted to make it clear that Barn2Door was building a company to help Farmers who are promoting their own Brand and selling Direct. Now 145 episodes and a few years into our podcast --- including the growth of our own Business --- we knew it was time to shift the focus from Farmers selling ‘Direct’ to the entirety of whom we serve: the Independent Farmer.

This Podcast is ideal for do-it-yourself Independent Farmers who own their business, skip the middleman, build their own brand, and sell direct to local Buyers.

Guest speakers include successful Farmers who grow and harvest proteins, produce, dairy and more. Discussions are focused on the business side of Farming. If farming is your full-time livelihood (or ambition), then building a viable business matters. Check out the Independent Farmer Podcast here:

Why Rebrand to ‘Independent Farmer’?

When we initially launched the Direct Farm Podcast in 2020, Barn2Door was establishing its brand and communicating who we were to the market, and what made us different. Direct focused on our mission to serve Farmers across the country who were skipping the middleman and selling direct to buyers (retail and wholesale). Now, 4 years later, we want to expand visibility into the value that Barn2Door offers to empower Independent Farm businesses.

This rebrand better captures the archetype of the Farmers we serve, as Independent Business owners, who are critical thinkers and decision makers --- who enjoy financial freedom based on their own hard work. They value the freedom to be Farmers, own their own business and don’t want to be limited by regulatory constraints. The Independent Farmer values decentralized agriculture (versus a food system dependent on the government).

As a Farmer, your business encompasses more than just direct sales. It also includes branding, marketing, sales, finances, inventory management, logistics and much more. An ‘Independent Farmer’ must tackle all of these aspects of their business. Through the podcast, we aim to give Independent Farmers better access to information and conversations relevant to the success of your business.

This rebrand reflects the evolution of Barn2Door’s brand, and the Farmers we serve. We are passionate about serving Farms that run their own operation, bringing ‘independence’ to all aspects of their business and increasing resilience.

What’s New?

New Look & Feel

Barn2Door worked to create a new logo, look and feel. We wanted a bold logo, representative of Independent Farmers and business owners. Farmers are fighting for their freedom to farm and sell products that they harvest for consumption by local Buyers. Ultimately, Independent Farmers improve economic resilience and ensure access to local Food.

This is how our logo came to include stars and stripes --- stripes that also look like a field --- along with an iconic barn, inside a microphone. Of course, the microphone represents a podcast, but it also indicates an amplification of Independent Farmers’ voices.

We were excited to update the colors --- still in the color brand family of Barn2Door --- to pull in more of the American flag. Aligning to our independence and freedoms we enjoy in this country!
