Deck the Halls: Using Store Banners this Holiday Season

It’s the Holiday Season, and decorations are everywhere. Greenery, lights, and countless red-and-green ads remind shoppers to spend their gifting dollars, and you can be part of the mix! Read on for the best ways to use your Store Banner this season, to build customer good-will and drive sales for your Farm.

Store Banners are invaluable real estate to communicate with your customers! When they go to your store, they see a solid-colored strip across the top of the screen. In it you can build brand loyalty, highlight a certain product, or offer a Promo code to drive sales. It’s totally customizable, and easy to quickly create and update. Here’s a few (of many!) ways we see farms using their store Banners:

1. Announce an Upcoming Product. Customers generally need to see a message 7+ times before it sinks in. By using a Store Banner to remind customers that certain products are New! or ready to order, you can lean on repetition to build excitement about it! Direct customers to place deposits today, to bring cash flow forward and secure buyers. (Read our eBook on pre-orders).

2. Reward for Loyalty. Banners are the ideal spot to remind customers of a Loyalty Program, just as they’re about to shop. Whether you’re offering discounted prices for customers pre-purchasing Store Credits, or rewarding shoppers (with a little discount) for re-using their pick-up bags, Store Banners can be used to give a little love in the way of a reward.

3. Announce Upcoming Events. If you offer on-Farm events like tours, farm dinners, classes or retreats, use the Store Banner to drive ticket sales! If your events happen on a recurring basis, use the Store Banner to announce details of the next event and include an incentive to drive urgency! (e.g.: “5 spots still available --- reserve yours now!”).

4. Tell them an important Detail. Some of our Farms us the Store Banner to share their preferences or give instructions to Customers. Think of your Store Banner as a useful bulletin board. Here are a few examples:

  • We prefer ACH purchases if you don’t mind? Instead of your CC # just put in your Bank # (It saves us some processing fees). Thank you for your support!

  • We will be on holiday from Dec 25 - Jan 3! It’s our first in years! We have blacklisted those dates for deliveries but the store will be open if you want to purchase for pickups / deliveries the following week(s)!

  • Our Farm is expanding! Next season we will have pastured poultry - both chickens and turkeys! (Pre-order now for next season!)

  • So many of you asked, so we finally added a new pickup location in the northside! Here is the address (when you shop just ‘select’ that one for your pickup)!

5. Run an Item-specific or Storewide Promotion. Use the Store Banner to drive sales by offering a Promo --- some ideas here! By advertising a sale directly in the store, you can move a surplus of one product, or drive urgency and spike sales with a limited-time offer.

6. Personalize their Shopping Experience. Finally, use the Store Banner to build customer loyalty and to ‘personalize’ their shopping experience. Think of it as a place to leave a friendly note. Examples:

    • Happy New Year from our Farm!

    • Thank you for your support ~ we love growing for you!

    • If you are new here: Welcome! We are excited to get to know you and grow for you!
