When Shauna and her family bought their Farm in 2023, they had a growing passion to serve their local community with healthy, farm-fresh food. However, as challenges arose, Sasquatch Family Farms realized the importance of leveraging community resources and software to streamline their sales and fulfillments.

Phil of Hopewell Farms moved onto 10 acres of land in Gainesville, Georgia in 2019. Inspired by “Folks, This Ain’t Normal” by Joel Salatin, he decided to leave his commercial banking job to raise meat for his community. Once he uncovered that the other 33 surrounding acres would be sold, he decided to buy that land and begin learning to raise cattle.

Yoder-Way Farm in McVeytown, Pennsylvania was established in the 70s as the Yoder family’s commercial dairy. Lois and her husband, Jeremy, decided they could no longer maintain a sustainable living with the milk prices they received on the commodity market. After switching to direct sales, the Farm has now built a 6-figure beef operation. We recently met with Lois to discuss their transition to direct sales, and how they maintain a consistent ordering process:

Julie and Michelle joined forces in 2019 to bring sustainable Farm products to their community in Texas. Now, Veteran’s Liberty Ranch serves Buyers throughout central Texas, with in-person and online sales.

Last year, we were happy to welcome Sacred Roots Maple to our Farm Advisory Network. A Maple Farm located in West Chazy, New York, Ashley and Ben Clark manage 140 acres of maple trees. From collecting the sap to making the syrup and producing other specialty items like maple cream, melts, sugar, and even a scrub, the entire process occurs on their land.

Hayton Farm Berries is a 5th generation Farm located in Western Washington that grows and sells organic berries, grass-fed beef, lamb, and free-range eggs. Located in Cleveland, Texas, Agricola Family Farms grows and sells organic produce. Originally from the Republic of Congo, Daphne and her family sought refuge in the United States in May 2010. Last year, Daphne Bicaise became a Barn2Door Farm Advisor, sharing how she incorporates her family’s story to build their local Brand and drive demand for their products.

Ben and Mel started as homesteaders in Colorado, but as goats led to pigs and pigs led to cattle, they quickly outgrew their Colorado home. Moving to Arena, Wisconsin, in 2016 has allowed Ben and Mel to grow their Farm business to what it is today.

Located in the rolling lands of Prospect Hills, North Carolina, Honey Bee Hills Farm is a Certified-Organic Produce operation. Covering 15 acres, Liz and Rich Mason left their careers in international development to plant some roots (literally!), dedicating their time to growing fresh food for the local communities surrounding their Farm.

Orem Farms is a fourth-generation Farm located in central Indiana where Jared and Joelle Orem raise pasture beef and offer custom hay baling. Last year, when Joelle became a Barn2Door Farm Advisor, we sat down with her to learn more about the Farm and the tactics she and Jared implemented to successfully sell direct online.
